2. The Gallery Restaurant at The Black Swan Hotel, Helmsley, North Yorkshire

3. The Oak Room at Holbeck Ghyll Country House Hotel, Windermere, Cumbria
Described as “a country house hotel with a heart” Holbeck Ghyll is one of the Lake District’s finest places to stay. New head chef Darren Cornish is keen to celebrate the culinary heritage of the North of England. Winteringham Fields is a fine dining restaurant with rooms nestled in a beautiful North Lincolnshire village. Colin McGurran creates a delicious and inspiring seasonal menu that mostly uses the restaurant’s own grown and reared produce alongside the best local and /or sustainable produce available. His unique style of cooking earned him winning dishes on the BBC’s Great British Menu in 2012 and 2014.

5. The Peat Inn, Fife, Scotland
The Peat Inn is owned by award winning Chef and columnist Geoffrey Smeddle and his wife Katherine, who have successfully built on its very fine reputation as one of Scotland’s most cherished destinations.
