NEW CLUB RESTAURANT INCLUSIONS

Well we steamed into 2014 with all guns blazing and our restaurant acquisitions department have literally been on fire with eight new fabulous restaurant inclusions that club members can receive benefits in when using their Design Restaurants Card.

1. The Lake Restaurant at St Michael’s Manor Hotel, Hertfordshire

The elegant orangery-style Lake Restaurant sits at the heart of the St Michael’s Manor Hotel, close to the city centre of St Albans.  Flooded with natural daylight and with stunning views by day and crystal chandeliers and candle light by night, the Lake Restaurants is a sophisticated modern dining room, perfect for family occasions of an intimate meal for two.

2. Buddha Bar Restaurant, Knightsbridge, London

The love child of the acclaimed Paris nightspot and London’s edgy vibe, Buddha-Bar offers smoky Eastern promise combined with a touch of English eccentricity. It floats into Knightsbridge on a warmly scented Eastern breeze, offering a sumptuous menu of Pan-Asian food set against a dreamily intimate chill-out atmosphere. Warm Oriental motifs are leavened by occasional nods to right-on Western culture, while the best of chill-out and lounge is sent forth by the live DJ.  High-life vibes, pulsing world of music and hot Asian cuisine are what you’ll find at this cool London venue.

3. Rock Salt – Folkestone, Kent

This is a sleek, dark timber and glass wonder cantilevered over Folkstone’s grand old harbour. Contrasting beautifully as worlds away from the traditional shops next door, this is a structure with floor to ceiling glass walls that give every table a view of the harbour, and on a clear day, France.  The main section of  Rocksalt has lime washed oak flooring and dark timber tables, giving it a luxurious but simple feel. The room is surrounded by green leather banquettes, which provide the perfect vantage from which to see the tide roll in and the fishing boats land the day’s catch.

4. Duke’s Grill at Slaley Hall, Northumberland

Magnificent, impressive, elegant, dramatic – there are all excellent words to describe both the interior and exterior of Slaley Hall. You’ll need little convincing about its stature when you see it. This is a huge Northumberland estate in 1,000 acres with its heart an Edwardian mansion now hotel, restaurant and spa which has the character of the old world but also well appointed glorious new.  Adventure to The Duke’s Grill, which is sumptuous refined Brasserie with the perfect accompaniment of having a Josper Grill to cook dishes uniquely and to perfection. Richly decorated with chairs you never want to leave this is a perfect destination for practically any type of dining occasion.

5. Cheyne Walk Brasserie, Chelsea, London

Cheyne Walk Brasserie is a chic much loved Chelsea restaurant specializing in simple, creative ideas and a passion for food and drink. 6. Gillray’s Steakhouse & Bar, The London Marriott Hotel

Gillray’s Steakhouse & Bar is the most English of English dining destinations, from the interior design to each cut of beef.
