Dining With The Stars – Natasha Corrett of Honestly Healthy

Natasha Corrett
Natasha Corrett

In a Design Restaurant exclusive, Natasha Corrett reveals her top 10 favourite restaurants. Here first is her story!

Natasha Corrett is a self-taught gourmet vegetarian chef, entrepreneur and co-author of best selling book, Honestly Healthy, Eat With Your Body In Mind, The Alkaline Way with the company’s Nutritional Director Vicki Edgson.

Having set up her business Honestly Healthy in 2010, Natasha’s passion for cooking started at an early age after being introduced to the business by her father, and spending a summer holiday in the kitchens of Le Boudin Blanc when she was 16.

With a keen interest in nutrition and alkalizing foods, Natasha takes her cooking seriously! She uses only the very best organic vegetables, cooks everything from scratch and ensures that her dishes are not only delicious but also nutritiously balanced.

Natasha has developed a range of fresh and dried food products championing the importance of   an alkaline lifestyle. Honestly Healthy allows you to do away with the restrictions of conventional diets and instead choose a lifestyle, which offers long-term benefits to health and wellbeing.

Natasha has successfully implemented her philosophy and unique approach to cooking across other business areas, she has consulted for LUX* Island Resorts in Mauritius  and is currently working with La Suite West Hotel in London, Bayswater recently reviewed by our own Mrs Robinson here.  She also travels the world teaching private chefs to cook  the alkaline way and gives talks, demonstrations, cooking classes at Food 52 in Old Street, cleanses and organises retreats for those who share her passion for a truly feel-good lifestyle.

Natasha is currently writing her second book.

What the press says…

“This is not about losing weight, may I stress. In fact, the five days I tested it (the Fridge Fill) I’d never eaten so much or had so varied a diet and because it’s all vegetarian I slept incredibly well. No indigestion, no dehydration from too much caffeine or zig-zag moods from fake adrenalin rushes. Each day, every meal perfectly packaged up for me…” Vogue Deputy Editor Emily Sheffield, Vogue.co.uk

“Vicki and Tash’s inspiring new book, Honestly Healthy is packed with background info, handy tips and delicious Alkaline-friendly recipes.” Woman and Home

“Full of feel-good recipes to nail at home.” Marie Claire

Here, exclusively for Design Restaurants, Natasha reveals her top 10 favourite restaurants

As a vegetarian with a healthy lifestyle, it is often very hard to go out for a meal and find something on the menu that is not only vegetarian and healthy, but appealing! However, here is a list of some of my favourite places to eat out in London which have all of the above in mind.

1. River Cafe
I have been going here since I was little. It’s such a fantastic atmosphere and Rose’s food is so delicious and fresh.

2. Electric Members Bar
This is my local cosy nook. I love that I know everyone there and they know my name too. It’s like my local!

3. Ottolenghi
When I can’t be bothered to cook and I know I want a delicious easy meal that I can take home, this is definitely the place I turn too. I love the salads and flavour combinations they put together.

6. 202 Westbourne Grove

Another of my local favourites, especially because I can take my dog in there.  Love a long lazy brunch in there – but be warned the portions are big!

7. Wild Food Cafe
This is right up my street and the owners are lovely – delicious raw healthy food.

8. The Oak Notting Hill
This is a great date location – either the bar upstairs for cocktails and nibbles or the restaurant is perfect.  But you can’t book so turn up early.

9. Market Thai Portobello
This is a Notting Hill local secret. In-expensive but so delicious and also a gorgeous setting – very romantic!

Petersham Nurseries

10. Petersham Nurseries Richmond
Ideal for lunch and tea. Not the healthiest of cakes but the food on the menu is delicious and the setting is so quaint. It’s a slice of the country in London. Also look out for their one off dinners they do a few times a year, they are a special event for the calendar.
