NEW CLUB RESTAURANT INCLUSIONS

The sun has been shining at last and we have been working hard to sign up some new Club restaurants for you to try out this summer. In this latest collection we are feeling more of a relaxed, chilled dining vibe with cool brasseries and rooftop gardens to get your summer sizzling!

1. Sam’s Brasserie, Chiswick, London W4

Sam’s is a proper brasserie: drinkers at the front, diners to the left, hip music all around. The cuisine is fantastically global, there’s a cheap early dinner and the menu reaches from ribeye steak to Mediterranean tapas, even dipping into a Goan fish and prawn curry. The look is modern, clean and stylish, yet they have managed to achieve a wholesome warmth at the same time. A triumphant epitome of the true local brasserie, Sam’s has that air of assurance that lets you know you are in for a good time.

2. Harrisons, Balham, London SW12

Harrison’s hums with a laid-back, funky buzz. The décor is a curiously successful blend of industrial and cosy, while the food covers a broad canvas, dipping its toes into all the continents, with steaks, curries, Asian nods and Italian nibbles. There are simple dishes like the sublime take on shepherd’s pie, alongside some that ache with trendiness (but still deliver on the taste front), like ‘chilled crab trifle’, layered with avocado and served in a preservation jar. This is an excellent hang out, with a nicely insouciant atmosphere and a tight menu bursting with quality, freshness and ideas.

3. La Brasserie at The Chester Grosvenor, Chester, Cheshire

This brasserie brings an elegant flavour of fin-de-siecle Paris to Chester and the almost decadent lavishness of the surroundings make for a haze of happiness and expectation as soon as you enter. The fabulous menu is expertly arranged and endlessly flavoursome, with a reassuringly attractive mix of traditional brasserie standards (calf’s liver & bacon, roast cod with chickpeas) pepped up with more creative ideas; open goat’s cheese ravioli and seared scallops with shredded pork rillettes and Granny Smith apple are both excellent starters, while Gressingham duck is prepared, cooked and presented superbly. A modern vibe in a fantastically period setting.

4. Babylon at The Roof Gardens, Kensington, London W8

Babylon promises exquisite cuisine, fantastic service and spectacular views of London’s city skyline. When the weather is right, guests can enjoy a seafood and champagne bar on our terrace overlooking the flamingo pond and make the most of those magnificent views.
